Suzee C. White

Having always loved painting and drawing from a small child growing up in Waynesboro, Pa, Suzee C. White has been lucky enough to be able to pursue this passion as an adult.

After graduating from Grace Academy in Hagerstown in 1995, Suzee began to pursue a career in English.  While taking time off from school, she moved to Eliicott City, Md in 2001 where she worked as a Buyer/Advertising Manager for a business that specialized in antiques, collectables and art.  By designing all the advertisements and working closely with the gallery director to build the fledgling art department, her love for art and design was slowly being rekindled.

When she moved back to the Hagerstown/Waynesboro area in 2006, Suzee really began to focus on creating her own body of work.  Changing her major to Visual Arts and taking classes at Hagerstown Community College, she started to grow into her own style in her artwork.

Over the past year, Suzee has been promoting her art under the name "Luckee Art" at various community venues.  She had her first solo show 2009 in Hagerstown and during 2010 has shown her work at First Friday in Greencastle, Old Home Week in Greencastle, Market Day in Waynesboro and I ART Downtown in Frederick.  She has also produced several custom pieces.  Currently, she is working out of her home studio in Waynesboro, Pa creating her colorful expressionistic paintings.

Artist Statement

"My artwork is a growing collection of acrylic paintings on canvas inspired by the stories that have and are molding my life.  Stemming from an early piece, all of my paintings have come to express a passage from the sorrowful to the extraordinarily lucky.  It is inspired by people, moments and experiences, my dreams and the dreams of others, by what challenges me and impassions me.  For me, my art has truly become an implement to give myself a voice, to express my joy with vibrant colors, share myself with the world and hope that it will inspire and make a connection with those who view it."

Exhibition

Waynesboro artist, Suzee White, the 2011 Blues Fest artist will be the featured artist at the Washington County Arts Council gallery during June 2011. The opening reception for the Blues Fest artist's show will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6pm until 9pm following the BLUES PRELUDE at University Plaza.

• Scott Cawood MSAC recipient of a "2010 INDIVIDUAL ARTIST AWARDS for Visual Arts: Sculpture" will display three blues sculptures.
