Nappy Brown
78 years young and Nappy’s still got it going on! Thanks to the efforts of Muddy Waters Band guitarist Bob Margolin and others, a whole new legion of blues and R&B fans from all over the world are falling in love with vocalist Napoleon “Nappy” Brown all over again. Perhaps most famous for composing the classic, “Night Time Is The Right Time,” one of the many stellar sides he cut for famed Savoy Records in the 1950’s when R&B and blues were giving birth to rock’n’roll, Nappy’s 2007 Blind Pig Records release, Long Time Coming has once again made the critics take notice. The new CD has earned Nappy nominations for both “Traditional Blues Album” and “Traditional Blues Artist of the Year” in the upcoming 2008 Blues Music Awards! Get downtown early on Saturday because daytime will be the right time to hear this thrilling vocal legend.
